Strength & Agility
Strength and Agility Class
To help our kids become competitive athletes, engaging in effective strength training is essential. Unfortunately, many children lack the guidance and knowledge to use gym equipment safely and efficiently. We understand that finding the right training options can be challenging.
The Strength and Agility class will enhance overall athletic performance through targeted exercises that build strength, core stability, and explosive power—all crucial for wrestling. Proper form will be emphasized to ensure safety and minimize injury risk. At Legend, we’re addressing this need by offering personal training in small groups, ensuring each athlete receives the attention they deserve. We’ve partnered with local trainer Ryan Corridon, who will provide tailored training twice a week, right before our practice sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays.
What to Expect:
Small Group Sessions: Limited to 8 students for personalized instruction.
Initial Consultation: A one-on-one session to assess each athlete's needs.
Customized Training (at additional cost upon request): Ryan will use an app for personalized programming, progress tracking, and goal setting.

Why: Research shows that between the ages of 7-8, if a child is able to follow directions safely, that strength training can be a safe and beneficial addition to the child's physical activities. Beginning strength training at a young age can help young athletes better protect themselves from sports or play-related injuries, and learn how to better move their bodies and improve control and balance. This is also true for children who are not in sports, as they will still benefit from more physical activity to keep them strong, healthy, and confident. In the Strength and Conditioning class, we prioritize teaching the students how to use proper form and perform the exercises safely and effectively. We start off with bodyweight movements, and as they improve in the movements, we gradually add in smaller weights, bands, or exercise balls to help them progress. The focus is not on growing larger muscles or lifting heavy weight, but on increasing their strength and endurance to improve their athletic performance and overall physical health. We will have a new dedicated Youth Athlete class for students under the age of 14 starting on Sundays at 12 pm, and we hope to see your young athletes there ready to get strong!
